About the Author
You might assume from my handle that I'm fond of boating. That assumption would be correct, and in fact I'm what you might call sailboat-poor. I also spent my early childhood and youth in coastal Georgia and North-east Florida; rarely living more than a few miles from salt water until I became an adult.
What does the "Sunset" part mean? Just that I've reached the point in my life where I'm closer to the grave than I am to the bassinet. It happens to everyone, and it's nothing to get excited about.
For some time after I retired in '07, my Honey continued working outside the home, and it didn't seem fair that she should have to play "June Cleaver" while simultaneously holding down a full-time job. It seemed reasonable that I should assume some of the load of household chores.
To some degree, I've always enjoyed cooking, although many of my "specialties" are simple mixes of readily-available components. In the process of taking over the cooking, I formalized some of my recipés. My original intent was to post some of what I consider my better ones in this blog, but I seem to have gravitated toward posting the entire experimental experience, when I try a new recipế. What this means is, I'll talk about things that don't work with the same alacrity as I do my successes.
Perhaps I can talk my Honey (whose cooking is responsible for much of my excessive pleasure in eating), or some of my siblings (who are fair dinkum cooks themselves!) into posting some of theirs, as well.
P.S. - You might have noticed that my site layout has changed. I recently got a couple of complaints about the old layout. Seems it didn't work well with the small screens on today's cell phones. I have no idea why anyone would want to view this site on a cell phone, but there you have it!
